In my 1960s comp there was a mural of the angles/angels marketplace incident, though sadly no one ever explained what it was to us. We were in Yorkshire, too so would have been particularly interesting.

Thank you Ed. Loved this article. This era of history is so overlooked, which is a shame as it was so important in the shaping Europe and the rest of the world. I just ordered ‘Path of the Martyrs’!
